So now that you got your website all set up, now what? Want to add that really cool new plugin you found? Or just cant get your mailing list to work right? How does it work?

1. After you sign up, we’ll get in touch with each other,  and first start with making a list and prioritizing what you think your most important tech questions are.  These will be the topics we’ll cover during our session.

2. We’ll schedule  a 1 hour session at a time that works  for both of us. Because honestly, anything longer than an hour at a time is a long time to sit down and try to soak all this stuff in at once.

3. We’ll use this awesome program called GoToMeeting. I’ll send you a special website link that will allow you to join a session at our agreed upon time and you’ll enter in a meeting code. From there, you will download this little piece of software to your computer. Dont worry, its free to install, wont make you sign up for anything or any of that stuff. I recommend checking out the GoToMeeting website. It has some great information about how it all works, information about security and all that kinda stuff.

4. When we are set to get started, one of us will call the other person. If you have a headset, or a mic and some speakers, we can use a built in voice chat feature that lets us talk over the computer. I personally love this feature because it lets you record the whole session and you can go back to it later for free.

5. When we’re ready to go, we’ll work through that list of questions we made up previously. And yes, you can ask me other questions not on the list as well, but obviously I’ll be better prepared to answer stuff if I get a little early warning.

6. GoToMeeting allows us to trade off control of the computer so if theres a time where you’d like me to type something in, or move something around with the mouse, I can do that with your permission. Plus, if you need to see something on my computer it lets you do that too.

7. There really isnt anything else to this. I just wanted seven items in a list.
